LEED Services: U.S. Green Building Council The U.S. Green Building Council leads a national consensus for producing a new generation of buildings that deliver high performance inside and out. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) promotes achievement in the following key areas of building impact: · Sustainable Site Development · Energy Efficiency · Indoor Environmental Quality · Water Conservation · Materials and Resources · Innovation in Design · Neighborhood Planning LEED Green Building Rating Systems are used for building Certification. LEED has four levels of certification: Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Within each category, all LEED buildings must first achieve a set of minimum standards or “prerequisites” which ensures that every certified building embodies the essential elements of a green building. (“Accredited Professional”) must pass a rigorous exam that tests expertise in LEED and integrated design.
